"India is a vibrant place with a large diversity of cultures, religions, and backgrounds. People in India generally hold a deep respect for the different backgrounds of their fellow citizens, and India has many laws protecting the rights of minorities to ensure that all individuals are accepted and respected regardless of their faith, gender, or ethnicity," remarked another expat who made the move to India.

"There is one colony in Pune called Rajneesh's Ashram which is really diverse and consists of people from all over the globe. The locals are friendly -- sometimes too friendly, which makes one feel suspicious...but they're a friendly lot and mean no harm," explained one expat living in Pune, India.
