Cebu

Cebu City is the second-largest city in the Philippines, located on Cebu Island in the Visayas region. The historic Magellan's Cross stands in the downtown area near the Basilica Minore del Santo Niño, one of the oldest churches in the country. The Cebu City Heritage Monument and Fort San Pedro, a 16th-century Spanish fortress, anchor the waterfront district. Colon Street, the oldest street in the Philippines, runs through the commercial heart of the city with colonial-era buildings mixed with modern shops. The Tops Lookout on Busay Road offers panoramic views of the city and Mactan Strait. Beyond the city center, the island features white-sand beaches at Mactan Island, accessible via the Mactan-Cebu Bridge, and the Kawasan Falls in Badian municipality to the south. The Carbon Market provides an authentic local shopping experience with fresh produce, seafood, and handicrafts. Cebu's culinary scene centers on lechon (roasted pig), particularly from restaurants along N. Bacalso Avenue. The city serves as a gateway to nearby islands like Bantayan and Malapascua, reachable by ferry from the North Bus Terminal or South Bus Terminal.
