We asked expat moms who gave birth in Nicaragua about their experiences and advice they have for other moms to be. They said...

"Be sure to research the medical care available in Nicaragua before having a baby. Check which hospitals and local health services are best suited to your needs. Take steps to ensure you have access to reliable healthcare providers before the birth, and that you are familiar with the birthing options available. It's important to understand the cultural norms around childbirth as well, so make sure to understand how the local healthcare system works. Additionally, make sure you are up-to-date with regards to vaccinations for you and your baby. Lastly, don't hesitate to ask for help from the local expat community, who may be able to offer advice or share experiences," said a member in Nicaragua.
