"Foreigners often find employment in France doing seasonal work, such as picking fruits and vegetables, in the hospitality and tourism fields, including working in hotels, restaurants, and retail shops, as language instructors, and as tutors in private households. Other common jobs in France for foreigners include working in customer service and technical support, entrepreneurship, and IT," mentioned another expat when asked about moving to France.
"Privas is a town of 30,000 and the center of government for the Ardeche region so about 80% of the people here work in cushy stable government jobs. We are here because my partner works in agriculture/wine, the major industry here. If you want to find work, I imagine you go to Grenoble or Lyon, not the Ardeche," commented one expat who made the move to Privas, France.
