They may also take on other professional positions such as marketing and public relations roles, or even freelance writing and photography opportunities. Some may choose to invest in the local markets or businesses, while entrepreneurial-minded individuals may also explore the country's growing number of startups. In general, Malaysia is a popular destination for foreign workers hoping to find great opportunities in a vibrant and diverse economy," said another expat in Malaysia.
"Retailing seems to be the major industry in this town. A little bit of manufacturing (food) and lots of multi-nationals have their offices here. Employment agencies are easy to use and they do not charge for those looking for employment (true only for locals). For expats, you'll have to get the working permit first. Newspapers are also a great place to look for jobs. Head hunting agencies are also available should one require their services," wrote a member who made the move to Petaling Jaya, Malaysia.
