"Yes, foreigners are allowed to own property in Vietnam. The Law on Housing of 2014 allows foreign individuals and organizations to own property in Vietnam, provided they meet certain conditions. These conditions include having a valid passport or visa, having a valid work permit, and having a valid residence permit. Foreigners are also allowed to lease property in Vietnam for up to 50 years. However, they are not allowed to own land in Vietnam," mentioned another expat when asked about moving to Vietnam.
