Césure is a cemetery in Paris, France

Césure, also known as Cimetière César-de-Choiseul, is one of the oldest cemeteries in the city, established in the 17th century. Located in the Marais district, it is the final resting place for many notable French figures, including the philosopher Voltaire and the writer François-René de Chateaubriand. The cemetery covers an area of approximately 1.5 hectares and is surrounded by a high wall, with a main gate located on Rue de Bretagne. Césure features a unique layout, with its streets arranged in a grid pattern and its tombstones placed along the sides. The cemetery's design is attributed to the landscape architect Louis Le Notre, who also designed the gardens at Versailles. Césure is open to the public and offers visitors a chance to explore its rich history and admire the ornate tombstones and mausoleums.
